Re: love.load vs stuff at top of main.lua

Hm..
Isn't love.load the only way to get command line arguments without editing the love.run?

Re: InvadersLike

Hi Noah, welcome to the forum :) Nice first game... I guess there's a ton of stuff you could add to it :neko: .. add sound, add some kind of power-ups, add explosions and/or particles when a bullet kills an alien... or just try to optimize the stuff you already have, add animations, add more types o...

Re: Back after an 9 yr hiatus...

If there's no new feature you really need, then I don't see any reason for using the 0.11.0 dev build right now. an update for LOVE hasn't happened since Oct 2016? Is it still being worked on? https://bitbucket.org/rude/love/commits/all latest commit was (as I type this) 3 hours ago :awesome: Aha! T...

Nice find, you're right. Sorry about that. :nyu:
Anyway, I still think BlackDiamond should try to rethink his way of putting things togehter.

Re: Something is wrong with my canvas. Can't spot a bug. Help? ;-;

The problem is that you don't use classes as they meant to be used. In the main you are trying to draw the class itself what doesn't make sense. I recommend you to read a bit more about classes amd OOP in lua. Here an example how it can look like (untested code): -- Player.lua -- local Player = Clas...

Re: [library] bump.lua v3.1.4 - Collision Detection

!Edit! with workaround below it seems like "cross" doesn't allow me to teleport using world:update, while setting the filter to any of the others result in the object to teleport where I want it to go That should not happen. world:update doesn't even look at filters . If you can, please provide a ....

Re: [library] bump.lua v3.1.4 - Collision Detection

I got another question. I'm trying to teleport an object from one "portal" to another on contact using world:update(object, object.x, object.y, object.width, object.height) and the object filter set to "cross" to detect the collision without having any collision resolution (from bump). Now, for some...

Re: Cupid in game console + OOP = no draw???

I've never heard of that lib before. Next time you should add a link or a description. The bitbucket page of the lib says that you have to put it in the first line of your conf.lua, not in the main.lua. Seems to work kinda, at least the error catching... but pressing "~" didn't opened a console for ...
