Re: Memory Profiling?

I used some existing library https://github.com/rxi/json.lua
But if I will need to parse something on my own in Lua, I will remember your advise

Re: Performance and quantity of classes

By the given info I suggest that problem is inside "inheritance" mechanism. Lua does not have embedded one, and there is some different technics to implement that. Can you share code about how you implement inheritance? Maybe it contains some copying, maybe it happens every frame by some mistake. Lu...

Re: Make my own particle system

Easy way: use existing particle system along with https://love2d.org/wiki/love.graphics.translate that way you can move all particles at once when player press "a" button and particles need to be moved all at once. Laggy way: do not use any particles or batches or instances, just plain draw call fo...

Re: Is there anything like a version manager for Löve?

How do you manage your löve versions and projects if like me you have projects across a broad range of versions? I store required love version inside every project  Good thing it is small. A 7680x11264 RGBA8 texture equals ~350 MB, meaning 3.5 GB/s at 10 FPS if you draw the whole image every frame. I didn't get that calculation... Copy all texture atlas from where to where every frame? It need to be loaded in video memory once at a game start and then there will be only "copy" of one...

Re: How to draw color emojis with love.graphics.print()

...and then using these images in Löve -- if you have a small and fixed set of emojis you want to use. But after you have images (colored) that is not so easy task to embed them inline with a regular text as that smile :o: for example. I tried to do that in my game: I want to print text like that: ...

Re: Trying to get the real desktop size (in pixels) on macOS and Windows

HighDPI and Retina is quite a mess, really... But the future is here and we must live with that =) Personally I can not imagine my life without 4k display and 200% ui scaling on windows. And many many games and other programs and frameworks ready for that, it is a bit disappointing that Love2d still...

So, to do that I must run Love2d from source in debug mode and try to reproduce that error... Sounds hard =)
