Re: General Purpose Grid Editor - it edits levels

Just thought I'd leave a quick update: I'm been doing work on this in the past few days, although a lot of changes are just for code cleanliness. But the two notable user facing changes are: You can change the grid snap! Geometry layers now export a list of rectangles, instead of individual 1x1 bloc...

Re: Which game would you remake?

I've been feeling inspired by this game lately, so if I was going to remake something, it would probably be that.

Re: crossfire

Critique #1 your presentation is horrible. I didn't play the game yet, but you need to add more pizzazz to your presentation. This is your game that you spent time making. Present it with pride and put effort into making a quality post/itch.io page. thank you for your critique. would you mind sugge...

Re: General Purpose Grid Editor - it edits levels

Looks pretty good. As someone who is also working on his own editors (Script editor right now but man, you should see my level editor) I really like how simple but still feature-ful yours is. The animations add a nice touch. (I use animations myself.) Yours even has features I haven't even implemen...

Re: General Purpose Grid Editor - it edits levels

Another suggestion, while we're giving ideas: add an option to bind tiles to certain keys (or the scroll wheel), that way you can rapidly place tiles. What keys would you want to bind them to? Because any of the keys are on limits for becoming a keyboard shortcut later on... Another suggestion: cre...

General Purpose Grid Editor - it edits levels

GitHub link! So! I'm working on a level editor! It's a little barebones, but I think it's pretty usable! It uses Lua tables for project setup, and it exports to Lua, too, so it should be pretty easy to use for any LOVE game. QpxbObYVIHQ I don't have any proper documentation right now, but you can l...

Re: [library] bump.lua v3.1.4 - Collision Detection

I think pushable/pullable objects can be implemented using techniques we already see in other games -- most games have a player state that is specifically for pushing, either activated by walking toward the object for long enough (such as topdown zelda) or by pressing and holding a button (such as ...

Re: [library] bump.lua v3.1.4 - Collision Detection

Since it looks like the topic is heading in this direction, I'm going to go ahead and ask this. What would be the best way to implement a platformer that has moving platforms and pushable boxes using bump? I've gotten relatively close to having a solid engine, but I haven't quite made it yet (my cur...

Re: Gravitry - Hardcore Platformer

At the very least, can you make the dialogue happen in the background without interrupting the gameplay? You would have to change how the dialogue boxes work, but that would solve the only real problem I had with the dialogue.

Also, you should let me make some new music for you! :)
