Re: [SOLVED] Is it possible to have a config file next to executable?

I don't agree with ivan's suggestions that INI files have been gone for a long time. They're super useful for changing game settings when you can't do that ingame, due to wrong game settings! And also a bunch of other stuff. They're still used for many commercial games and nearly every game has an i...

Re: Gamescom Showcase Contest

Well I guess Stone Kingdoms doesn't qualify then, damn!
It's really cool that you have a booth! Are you showcasing any new game?

Re: Prevent freezing while working with large files?

I mean, I can optimize it if you need to. But I'd need your project folder and data to do that.
Anyways, Love2D isn't really meant for this, obviously it's a gamedev framework, but I don't think it's that slow.

Re: Prevent freezing while working with large files?

You can still do that in C, using FFI, if you absolutely need to. I don't think loading a 600k line file into a contiguous array would work well tho.

I guess he has text in a love.graphics.print in love.draw.
Anyways, you've got them wrong, they're the other way around. 1 is left mouse, 2 is right mouse, 3 is middle mouse button.

Re: Using mouse input, left mouse button not doing anything??

Where did you put that code? Can you share your project? It should work, but I don't know the context.
EDIT: isn't 1 left mouse button and 2 right mouse button?

Re: Prevent freezing while working with large files?

It sounds like you can't send your progress properly. EDIT: READ LAST CODE SNIPPET --thread.lua Files = love.filesystem.getDirectoryItems("data") for iFiles = 1, #Files do for Line in love.filesystem.lines("data/" .. Files[iFiles]) do DoCancel = ChannelCancel:pop() if DoCancel then goto done end cha...

Re: Prevent freezing while working with large files?

Well in that case, yeah. How much faster do you need ? It might be better to read the whole file in the thread without sending each line to the other thread and do the stuff you need to do with it there.

Re: Prevent freezing while working with large files?

Can you share the .love file? I'm curious as to why it's slow because with luajit it's only 1.3x times slower than C.
