Re: Trouble with OpenGl

it seems like your video card driver isn't installed. Go here if your laptop model has the GeForce 9200M graphics chip, or here if it does not. download the nvidia (or intel) driver and install it, then your graphics should be much faster and have more features.

Re: [Tutorial] Physics

You could just do love.graphics.draw() with the x and y coords as the circle's center coords minus the circle's radius. This is correct but there is a minor detail missing. You want to place your texture at the circle's center and then use half the width and height of the texture as the offset valu...

Re: STI Tutorial, Getting whole sprite sheet

you are drawing the whole texture, you want to send the quad with your texture.

Code: Select all

local q = love.graphics.newQuad(0, 0, 16, 16)
love.graphics.draw(sprite.player, q, 100, 100)
there is a library called anim8 you might want to look into, it's pretty good at helping with animations

Game Code Design Patterns

https://github.com/excessive/love-game-patterns Here is an example of various ways to write game code, written by @shakesoda. This includes a bare procedural approach, an OOP approach, and an ECS approach. Bonus inclusion is a hand-minified version of the procedural code cut down to only 1318 bytes!...

Re: Simple Tiled Implementation - STI v1.2.3.0

Hm.. Tiled allows for custom properties and STI respects those, so couldn't you do something like this in Tiled: { id = 1, name = "", type = "", x = 5, y = 20, properties = { collidable = true, image = "assets/images/tree.png" -- image = 47 -- if you have an id in a lookup table instead } } And then...

Re: Simple Tiled Implementation - STI v1.2.3.0

Can I see an example map? I'd like to see how you are structuring your data so I can determine the best way to add such a feature.

Re: Simple Tiled Implementation - STI v1.2.3.0

It's been quite a while since I've made a formal release, but here we are! STI v1.2.3.0 is now out and supports most of the new features added to Tiled since the big 1.0 version bump. Most of the changes and bug fixes in this release actually came from pull requests, so I am very happy that the LOVE...

But it is just a switch you can turn off and on at will.
