Re: Little Games

It is guaranteed you can always solve the position it presents you. Because the game has the property that two moves at the same position cancel each other out, it is possible to construct solvable positions as follows. Start from the empty position. Make any sequence of moves. After this, you can r...

Re: Little Games

I have written a simple version of the Lights Out puzzle with Löve. It is attached to this posting. You are supposed to click click click away until all the lights are out, which is represented by all the rectangles being empty. Then you can proceed to another level where there will be more Lights t...

Little Games (on hold)

EDIT: I am not going to release new games for now. I am currently not using Löve. This thread is for posting little games I've made with Löve. I feel that individually these do not merit their own threads, which is why I will collect them here in one place. I will keep a list of all the games I will...

Re: Idea: RichText

This should be a subset of HTML or easy to convert from and to HTML, so you could write your game's manual and other docs in HTML and display them both in game and in a browser with little trouble. If you make your own format that is not compatible with anything else, you could get a visit from the ...

Re: Love 0.7 docs WIP

Because I am writing a reference document for my own off-line use, and I see no value in adding anything to the Wiki.

Re: Love 0.7 docs WIP

This concludes my interest in contributing to the Löve on-line docs. I'm really just wasting my time here.

Re: Love 0.7 docs WIP

API design is UI design, and poorly designed user interfaces allow you to do nonsensical operations for no good reason. This is a minor example of just such a case. It would cost practically nothing to just raise an error when a file is being opened in closed mode, whatever the heck that even means....

Re: How can I put in images?

The simplest way is to save the image in the same directory/folder as your main.lua. I suggest you try this Hamster Ball example from the Wiki as your first one instead: http://love2d.org/wiki/Tutorial:Hamster_Ball It loads the image (provided on the page) with this line: hamster = love.graphics.new...

Re: Love 0.7 docs WIP

One possible use for this callback is putting up a menu where you can save the current game, quit without saving or continue playing. (You know, apparently some shoddy people hit that little cross with their mouse by accident now and then :)). Well, I guess you don't even have to show a menu like t...

Re: LÖVE 0.7.0 beta released

I think the correct answer is almost always that Löve does whatever SDL does, because that is the library it uses. You can see what happens when the game is being loaded and started up from boot.lua. Here's a link to the repo: http://bitbucket.org/rude/love/src/tip/src/scripts/boot.lua Looks like th...
