Re: Newbie questions?

1 - What are the rules when using someone elses code? Would giving credit where credit is due be good enough? That depends on the license of the code in question. Source code is subject to copyright law just like literature. Usually the source code itself contains a license statement right at the t...

Re: ranking

Prole means you are our butt-monkey and must do whatever the party members tell you! :joker:

Just kidding, they mean nothing and your rank simply depends on your number of posts.

Re: Temple of Anput

Very cool. However as someone who actually played CGA games as a kid I would like to point out that those aren't CGA graphics. First, the resolution is too high, and more importantly the colors are wrong. CGA's light magenta is 0xFF55FF, not 0xFF00FF etc. And yes, I noticed that immediately  Al...

Re: cannot use object from a other lua file

I think you should read a Lua tutorial/book before you continue working on your game. Your problems are not LÖVE-specific but result from a lack of general Lua knowledge. "self" does not magically appear. Either you pass it explicitly: function ScreenManager.draw(self) if(self.currentScreen ~= nil) ...

VTM: Bloodlines is one of my favorite games. Seems you are copying the computer interface from that game ;)

Re: cannot use object from a other lua file

That doesn't work because in screenmanager.lua you define ScreenManager as "local". Either you make it a global (not recommended) i.e. change the first line of screenmanager.lua to: ScreenManager = {} Or you make screenmanager.lua return a reference to ScreenManager (I would do that, leads to faster...

LDoc build for Windows x64

My project is getting so big that I felt the need for proper documentation. After looking at the current Lua documentation tool situation I decided that LDoc is the best option. Unfortunately there were no up-to-date Windows binaries  I tried using LuaRocks but that did not work for some reason...
