skyHights, I fixed the exploit you pointed out, and thanks again!

I also improved the handling of player dying, the game now shows a generic screen and boots you back to main menu.

The 'blind on turn 1' thing was the FOV not refreshing - I brute forced it and it works like a charm.

Time to start working on spells/feats as well as level generation.

I'm thinking of picking up the LOVE port of my roguelike back up! However I can't figure out how to force LOVE to redraw my map once I change the level...

Haven't done much in the last two months as I have been experimenting with Unreal Engine 4. However I'm still *much* more comfortable with Lua and I want to finish the port. The only issue is, the map doesn't redraw immediately, you need to make a first step on new level blindly. Any ideas why this ...

I downloaded the .love from first post, and I get tons of "a body escaped Memoizer" errors when trying to test the topdown car example.

Also pressing "Help" in first menu causes a Lua error: bad argument #1 to utf8len (string expected, got table)

Levels are now loaded from data and the level name and number ("depth", whatever) are displayed on screen. You can also change levels (go downstairs). I spent a couple days fixing all manner of weird bugs (turn order showing npcs that weren't there, encounters doubling in size suddenly) bu...

I don't think it's the frame rate. I've reproduced that the car stops responding and the front wheels spin out of control after I hit stuff (other cars or walls) several times.
