Joystick indices
Wheee, I'm making a game finally. Actually, I've fallen madly in LOVE with Lua. I wanna marry it right now. I'm sure it has been asked before, but why does love.joystick index game pads starting at 0 instead of 1? Is the index just taken directly from SDL? This is information that should be in the W...

Re: Finding Love
For a game like this, the amount of music would be very small. You're right that it could be distracting, but I think the LOVE demo No did it pretty well: A brief prelude in the game menu, silence during the gameplay, and a jingle whenever you finish a level (which may have been a tiny bit jarring a...

Re: Managing animation state transitions
I understand your general concern, but in the demo you made, jumping looks good to me in almost all possible situations. I actually had to try to aim for a frame where the transition looked awkward at all, and even then it wasn't bad. "Tweening" seems like a horrible idea for any raster im...

Wonderful lil' thing! Making Minesweeper into a peaceful fluffy bunny.
Want any original music and sound effects? I'd be happy to provide.

Only some ANSI chars are broked
By now I've run into the character set problem, and I'll just say that for my purposes using the ANSI set works fine. However, only some ANSI characters work, no matter what font I set. For instance, the beyond-ASCII symbols ÷ (division sign) and ¶ (paragraph symbol) display fine. But ‡ (double dagg...

Re: Top-Down City With Depth
Thursdaybloom, the demo looks great.
Is there a reason why you have the player closer to the bottom of the screen, rather than the center?
Also, the perspective feels very high up to me, like looking down from a helicopter. But perhaps that's your intention.

Re: LoveArcade.org
It's looking better, and much more legible. But again, it's better to organize the page with divs and CSS rather than tables. In fact, that may be part of your cross-browser compatibility problem. (In FF, Chrome, and IE, change the browser window size and see the different behavior.) Here's one page...

Re: LoveArcade.org
Agreed, "This site best viewed in browser X " is pretty 1990s. (Even though I do think IE is stinky.) Feedback time! If we're correcting typography, " comming soon" should be " coming soon". The graphical layout of the current site seems pretty nice. But you're using ta...

Re: Jasoco's 3D Model Extravaganza.. Does anyone like STAR FOX?

That was the sound of my jaw hitting the floor.
Which is very odd, since the floor here is carpeted.
