Journey to the Center of Hawkthorne is a 2D platformer / RPG based on Community's Digital Estate Planning episode. The game is open-source and community-run, so we're always looking for help.

Just a tip.

To have links that have an optional title, do something like this: [url=http://www.example.com]Optional Title[url].

It's so great to finally see this in the forums. I'm sure I'm not alone when I feel that this is one of the more ambitious and promising löve projects out there. Great work.
Do you recognise when the world won't stop for you? Or when the days don't care what you've got to do? When the weight's too tough to lift up, what do you? Don't let them choose for you, that's on you.

FROM THE DEVS

It's that time again folks, another new version of Journey to the Center
of Hawkthrone. We've finished the transition to the new sprite sheet
layout, so now all characters use the same layout! A huge thanks to
everyone involved, especially /u/edisonout, for getting this to the
completion line. Now that we have the sprites, digging and crawling are
closer than ever.

We also have two new costumes, Hobbes troy and Ameridean.

We've connected more levels together and also updated the first
cutscene. Since we just changed EVERY costume, please download and
play test.

Enjoy!

PS: While we now have the blacksmith sounds and sprites, he hasn't made
it into the game just yet. Close!

It was one year ago that I posted the first version of Journey to the Center of Hawkthorne over in /r/community. Since then, we've released 78 versions of the game, designed 206 costumes (that's more than the Dean himself) and had over 350 people help us with with the game.

This game is truly community powered, and we couldn't be where we are today without all of you. A huge shout out to the mods and developers who've helped take my original idea and make it a reality.

Changes

- Automated error reporting: No more posting images of stack traces in the subreddit. The game will automatically report problems in a central place so we can fix them quickly
- Game save management: Select which game save you'd like to use, and delete old saves
- Redesign HUD: Simpler design and larger health bar.
- Lightning and Arrows: You can finally shoot lightning and arrows. Check the comments for instructions on how this works.
- A more faithful overworld: You can only travel to areas you've seen. Green flags show up when you've completed an area.
- Costumes: 39 new costumes (almost all from one person) I can't even keep track.
- Info boxes now open more than once.
- Platforms should be more consistent across all levels.
- Your visited levels will now be saved (woohoo!).
- Enemies will now flash red when they've been hit, which more closely matches the episodes.
