Re: [MMO] BrawlQuest: Shipwrecked [Now on Steam!]

Post by Pebsie »

Just to keep everyone posted on this: Shipwrecked v1.0.1 is now out adding in some nice UI updates and optimisations. Very soon will be the release of Shipwrecked v1.1 which completely removes random encounters which is a massive system change.

Here's the changelist so far:
[GAMEPLAY]
- Removed random encounters (fights now appear in the overworld with a 5 minute reset timer (one in-game hour))
- Which fights spawn now depend on in game time of day and weather

[BUG FIXES]
- Fixed a glitch that caused you to get a copy of your helmet when you changed gear (instead of returning the equipped gear back to your inventory)

[SERVER]
- Heavily optimised the way that player data is stored
- Added anti username spoofing measures

Hey! Thought I'd give an update since it's been a while.

This game is still heavily in development but I've had to delay release a few times due to university assignments and dissertation work kicking in harder than I expected. I've also since registered Fresh Play as a company and have taken on a fair amount of client work to pay my rent, so that's a fair bit of work too.

It's currently delayed until mid January but I may delay it even further and then launch out of early access. I'll be doing another event shortly too in time for Christmas that showcases the new questing capabilities of the engine. Oh how ignorant I was to think that this'd be a 2 month project! :joy:

Further down the line there's an expansion being written and I'll be looking at releasing and licensing the editor and server software too to allow other people to make their own games in the engine. We'll see...

To the future! :)
