I found it through del.icio.us, it probably got there from reddit.

I had been looking for a nice 2d game engine that used an interpreted language. I found that Lua was benchmarked as one of the fastest of the interpreted languages. Did a search on google for "2dgame engine Lua" and guess what? It was the first result ^^

I have been in LÖVE ever since :)

I also really like the fact that you have an IRC channel. I use IRC for most of my collaboration so double win :D

I saw it on waxy.org/links, and on the same day a co-worker recommended it as a "dream" for prototyping. So here I am =]

I was making my own lua-based 2d game scripting engine with stuff on it...
Hey, I was doing the same thing.

My brother found LOVE on reddit.com or StumbleUpon and recommended that I check it out, because he knew I was interested in Lua and game development. I looked through the documentation and realized it was about ten times as mature as mine, so I'm going to use it for my next game.

I find LÖVE on the game programming wiki's game engine list.

Hi btw, just registered, really promising "engine" I must say! ^^

Randomly tried

Code: Select all

sudo pacman -S love
and was surprised when it installed something, wasn't too big so I decided to check whatever it was out. Am happy that I did.

or that was something and I found love on reddit. I forget which.

I'm actually home schooled and my brother (AKA my CS teacher) decided this would be an excellent Computer Science project. School has never been so fun and frustrating at the same time.

He found it on hacker news.

strange, because Löve is not in the official archlinux repositories. Wasn't it with yaourt instead?

I was looking for a 2d game engine to help speed things up with my game idea. I just searched google for 2d game engine I think and it was one of the top ones i think.

The presentation of the site made me interested. Maybe put some screenshots of some of the best looking games so far on the front page to get people even more interested?
