ok, I see why. that still sucks that opengl support isn't very good on lots of cards...
@appleide: directx is windows-only, but that shouldn't affect you since the graphics api is due to be implemented for both dx and ogl. dx simply wouldn't be included in mac and linux builds.

also, I'm assuming that internally, love needs some smart pointers for things like images and audio resource files... so wouldn't this help with that? should keep consistent with lua programming practices, anyways.

This is going to be nice, I prefer while true do over update(dt) and draw() (what goes where anyway?).
