Need music? I've got music

Hey,

Got a game project going on and would like to have original music for it? I'd like to help. I've been making music as a hobby for a few years. I have the tools for electronic music, as well as a good quality digital piano for recording.

I don't need any compensation, except for a name in the credits. I'm doing this just for the fun of it.

Here's my Soundcloud page with 3 sample songs: http://soundcloud.com/alankojarno/sets/new-songs-100/
Here's me playing the piano (Yeah, the tempo is a bit high) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zbQwr44U1rw
And here's my band's first demo, me playing the keyboards http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HHclpYG7S2M

Post here or send me a PM if you're interested!

Hey, very nice!

I'm also planning to make a rendition on piano or electric guitar of the music for my clone:

but I'm seriously procrastinating... hahaha
well, if you are interested in this theme I would love to hear your take on it.
My project is open-source and free and probably your music would be used by others,
that was fine with me but you must consider it.

Regards

I'd love to do that! I have to go to sleep now, but I'll take a look at that tomorrow.

Glad to hear.
I'd probably add a menu and sound effects if you add the background music.

Here we go: http://soundcloud.com/alankojarno/simple

I didn't know what style of music you were aiming for, so I tried to create something resembling the original Tetris theme. I hope you like it. I tried playing your game with this in background, and I think it fitted quite decently. The song has a short intro and should loop seamlessly from end to the 3,69 second mark.

I'm not sure if the song fits the graphics style of the game, The graphics are from the 90's, while the song is quite high quality in contrast. A chiptune track might fit better. What do you think? I could maybe make a 8-bit version of this.

I quite liked your Tetris clone by the way. The graphics are clean and everything works exactly like it should :)

I could do a short menu theme as well if you'd like. Pick a style!

Wow man that was FAST!
I'm loving the piano intermezzo and the whole tune.
The clone is happy :D :D

I'll convert this to ogg. If possible I'd love to have a wav to avoid quality loss, a chiptune would be also cool, but this music totally rocks man, I don't request any more. Many many thanks.

About your song, Is it ok if I add you at the end of the google page?
In the section that says Maintainer I can change that to contributors, and add:
Music by "" please send me your exact copyright notice.
Of course once I add a credits menu you'll be there.

Thank you!

"Music by Jarno Alanko" at the bottom of the Google page is fine for me. I'll do the chiptune if I feel like it sometime.

Any other takers? :awesome:

If I manage to finish one of my projects without jumping to another one, I'll probably be asking for music

I love "Ice" It would suit many different types of games.

@Jarno:
I already updated the simple clone with your music theme, it sounds pretty nice. :D
I uploaded the updated zip file in the game thread and updated the credits in the project source page.
Also if you really feel interested I would also love to have the menu intro, but the menu is not going to be soon really so there is no hurry.

I was wondering what software you used for compose the track, I know a bit of FruityLoops and Ableton Live, if its possible I would like to have the midi or source for adding an electric guitar track but that is in the future and only if you are ok with that.

Many thanks again and have an excellent 2012 year.
