gamepad guid issues

hi
im using windows 7 64x
i have an xbox 360 controller plugged in and a ps2 controller (with a usb converter) also plugged in
the guids i get back for them dont appear to be what they should be

according to this

the ps2 one there says it should be :
10080300000000000000504944564944

but i get :
10080100000000000000504944564944

(the difference being the 6th digit)

the xbox controller is all zeros, ie :
00000000000000000000000000000000

which I didnt realise was wrong till I tried running this on a friends PC (which was using windows 8) and it returned a normal looking guid filled with numbers.

on another friends PC, his xbox returned a guid of :
78696e70757401000000000000000000

My understanding is the guids are similar across all window platforms ?
either way, what could be the cause for this ?
