Oh, it is a 2D engine. More specifically, it's a fork of LÖVE. Have you ever seen a Blue Screen of Death? Totally just copied from the original LÖVE blue screen.

would be extremely lövely if as the API pounds on in it's relentless pursuit of programatic, self consistent, beauty.... that we could find a video of some of these demos

Why don't you download LÖVE 0.6 (which is the version this is made for) from here: https://bitbucket.org/rude/love/downloads/ and try running it on the attachment in the OP?

I tried it, and I was impressed.

If you want the most recent version, grab LÖVE 0.8 too and get it from here: https://code.google.com/archive/p/dice3 ... ult/source

The technique has nothing to do with how you do 3D nowadays, though. This is fake 3D.
