"Cybercraft" - a cyberpunk RPG [WIP]

Greetings!

Nowadays I just found out that I should make a game that is an "essential Katamori game!" Because I love cyberpunk games with deep narrative, I decided to make an RPG, first time in my life.

My progress is freakin' slow, but I make a thread anyway, to give myself a chance to become a little bit well-known. I'm gonna upload a better version of my prototype here, when updates are happenning.

UPDATE! Pretty huge one.

- smooth camera scrolling
- proper sprites for player and NPCs
- NPC behaviour
- player turning according to mouse position
- projectiles & shooting (both for player and NPCs)

UPDATE!

- item system added
- both characters and items are sampled from a common file
- more complex GUI: stats, hotbar, inventory and quit
- weight limit added
- a new character behaviour: turning around
- projectiles can hurt enemies and player

ohh

I was originally skeptical about this, but seeing this nice clean progress i must go ahead and ask :
Firstly : Is the game idea, mechanics and other 'story'(if any) already thought out, and to what extent?
Secondly : Are you focusing on a singleplayer experience only, or do you see any form of multiplayer appearing or being worked in, be it either full joint gaming or a simple scorecoard and master server related setup?

do keep it up, the graphics style intrigues me!

Why did you have doubts? Did I upload too early videos?

Answer 1: nothing any special yet. There's a planet with losta wastelands, villages, town, and a gigantic arcology, and a lot of alliances can be found everywhere - that's what I have so far. Just the basics.

Answer 2: primarily, I'm a single player guy, but I'm willing to add multiplayer options as well. However, I'd rather build a proper and working SP engine before I start adding multiplayer mode. I definitely wouldn't make an MMO-RPG, my knowledge may not be enough for that yet.

Thanks for liking the graphics, I still think that I suck at drawng though.

No not too early, i was just pessimistic about the direction the project would go, or something to that degree of explanation.

I will keep an eye on this, and your drawing skills aren't terrible, a player looks like a player, the small animations to the other entities are neat and going back to the player - the fact the sprite has well made rotated states im impressed..its atleast far better than what i normally spend hours scouring free art sites for :ehem:

Of course I won't make a cliché RPG, which wouldn't be different from the thousands of indie RPG games...my plan is to do a rather GTA-esque cyberpunk game with RPG elements such as skills and inventory system. Thanks for the kind words anyway, I hope I'm even gonna be able to design proper items!

Huge pause = HUGE UPDATE!

- player can use only usable items
- player can drop items
- player can die
- HP bar added
- ammo system added
- dialogue system added
- inventory shows only items that you HAVE (proper listing is WIP)
- new character: Civilian (test)
- new character behaviour: walking around (randomized one-way patrol)
- new character feature: special characters
- a truly huge and obvious easter egg :P
- other things I possibly forgot



The source itself is about to become chaotic, damnit! Making order is getting harder. I even had to make a separated txt file about control! Don't worry; you can find that in the .love file.
