How did you hear about Löve?

Post by pekka »

Quick poll that might indicate what are good ways to promote Löve to attract more users, more notability and that eventual and inevital Wikipedia article (that won't get deleted) :)

I didn't include the option that you were part of the original devteam, because come on, nobody trusts those guys!

They heard about it on a George Michael song.

Personally, I think, that I found out about after a web search. I was actively looking for 2D game engines that did not suck. (I almost decided to do it on my own and build something on top of SDL, after reading "Focus on SDL". But i'm an artist, the math almost killed me, and my "engine" was gonna suck balls anyway.)

PS: By the way, I lied on boing boing. I said that i saw Not Tetris and then I decided to check out Löve :-p

I can't remember if I first saw it on Reddit or read about it in one of _why's blog posts at the now gone hackety.org.

iDevGames or something. They had an article about the Löve environment. At the time I was looking for something A) fast and B) cross-platform to replace QuickBASIC and JavaScript/HTML/CSS.

Google. It's the first thing that comes up if you google "2d game engine," so it must be good, right?

I read it on reddit. I tried to build a similar engine myself at that time but switched over to LÖVE when it was clear my project was about to fail.
