Setting up PS4 controller for Love

Post by BruceTheGoose »

I tried running the demo from the wiki with the Circle and DPAD. But it does not work. The controller is detected but Love doesn't seem to detect its input. Has anyone successfully managed to use a PS4 controller with Love?

Using a PS4 controller through USB works for me on Windows. It's just detected as a generic game controller though, so rumble etc. does not work.
Tools: Hot Particles, LuaPreprocess, InputField, (more) Games: Momento Temporis

As ReFreezed said, a PS4 controller should just function as a generic controller. I admit not having tried it myself with love just yet, but I should look into it.

For a quick solution (if you are just using it personally), install DS4Windows. :P It sets up a PS4 controller like it was an xbox controller, and also acts like a controller is always plugged in so if something doesn't support hot-swap, it will work anyhow. You can also set profiles and macros and a bunch of extra advanced features, which is handy.
