Non-English text support for TTF?

Post by hima »

Hello,

Will LÖVE support drawing non-English string with True Type Fonts? Or does it already support that? I've tried loading a Thai font. It loaded fine, but when I tried to draw a string in my native language ( Thai ) , it shows latin characters instead. English text can be drawn without any problems though. Is there any way to overcome this problem except the bitmap font?

Thank you in advance :)

There have been earlier questions about the same, but I believe there was no other way than using bitmaps. (If I'm wrong, please correct me.)

http://love2d.org/forum/tracker.php?p=2&t=4 (thought you'd be interested to know)
lg.newImage("cat.png") -- made possible by lg = love.graphics
-- Don't force fullscreen (it frustrates those who want to try your game real quick) -- Develop for 1280x720 (so people can make HD videos)

Sorry, no Unicode yet. It's planned, but it will require quite a bit of work, so don't expect it in very near future.
