Re: Tower Jack (An Infinite Tower Game)

I had a weird flickering issue with the scaling in fullscreen: Gonna fix my itch.io later, but for now. I made a quick patch below (removed flickering and gave a little bit faster progession). Project Tower Jack.love I think my mistake was that I put love.graphics.setScissor() inside love.draw()......

Tower Jack (An Infinite Tower Game)

https://sphyrth.itch.io/towerjack

I'm just trying out this "itch.io" thing since I've been living in a cave for the past 5 years.

Re: Spacemissao: shooter inspired by space invaders

People who didn't get to witness CRT Monitors might not appreciate it much, but this game made me travel through time as well as space.

Re: I have a problem with lag

Woohoo! Now time for me to provide a sample solution of what to do instead: function love.load() stageTime = 0 stageState = "1" -- I'm replacing your "stage = none" with this: -- Step 1: (A table of stages) stages = {} -- Step 2: Insert all your 30 images in that table. for i = 1, 30 do table.insert...

Re: Another Kind of World (Remake)

I wasn't here to remember that game, but it sure looks ahead of its time. It looks on par with today's LudumDares.

As a side-note, Stabyourself Games and Tangram Games (Starting with Duck Marines) eventually led me to Love2D... specifically when Sienna explicitly credited it.

Re: Keyboard

Let's translate that into code: Method 1: function love.update() ... if love.keyboard.isDown('a') then -- Let's press 'A' for example -- Do Action end end * You can put an "else <Stop Action>" if you really need it. Method 2: function love.keypressed(key) if key == 'a' then -- Do Action end end func...

[ANSWERED] Question about My Method of Animation and Quads

I know that this will end with "whatever I prefer", but I like to know your opinion on this. So, I have 2 main approaches of handing animation: #1 - The traditional-Tutorial Way (Setting Up Several Quads to be accessed for every framerate tick) function love.load() quads = { quad1, quad2, ..., quadN...

Re: For loop problem

for i in ipairs(balls) do love.graphics.draw(ball.x, ball.y) end Don't put that in addBalls. Put that under love.draw. And write it like this instead: for _, b in pairs(balls) do love.graphics.draw(b.x, b.y) end Take note that i used pairs instead of ipairs , although that might work, too.

Re: Help with spawning multiple objects

GD50 falls under CS50 (maybe it's the other way around, but you get the point). Their tutorials were "great" back in the day, but they were posted at a time when Love2D was about to get a backwards-incompatible update. So, the spoon-fed nature of the tutorials collapsed as time goes on. Even looking...
