Happy Holidays

Hi everyone, I'm still continuing on with my Habitat Wars card game but I turned aside for a little holiday project. I present to you a remake of an old family game (that my dad created actually, yes he physically made it!) called "Happy Holidays". The aim of the game is to be the first player to tr...

Re: Brick Slayer [GMTK 2019]

Awesome amounts of fun!

No bugs that I encountered.
Difficult enough to be a challenge but not so much as to give up. Replayable enough to think: "I'm sure I can beat that score if I try again!"

Kudos.

Re: Habitat Wars [early stages demo]

Thanks for the feedback. I just figured out the A.I. as I went. It basically works off a combination of decision tree and "score the board" method. If you give it enough time it works out what it thinks is the best way it can finish it's turn (based on it's opinion of the board score) and traces how...

Habitat Wars [early stages demo]

Hi folks! I've been playing around with a card game (a rebrand of a format I've tried before). It's based on the idea of a war between habitats of creatures with a single player mode (vs A.I.) and a "pass and play" mode. As you complete a habitat you earn gold and unlock more cards to purchase, each...

Re: SpaceXplorer

Hi & welcome to Love2D, congrats on your first game! Things I liked: It looks very pretty It works nice and smoothly The sound/music is simple but effective I'm guessing it might work on mobile too? (not tried) Things that might have been nice: Moving without shooting? A bit more time/space to react...

Re: Understanding draw operations and transformations

Well, what I had in mind is that if you have 20 cards to draw and you need to switch canvas 20 times every frame, that is going to hurt performance. There's a lot of "it depends". I don't know what you need exactly. Thank you, you guessed correctly. In my (simple) plan I had 80 cards drawn on the s...
