Re: KDP - Keyboard driven pixel art editor made in löve

I don't believe my eyes. xD

There should be a mode that instead of rendering the big pixels it should draw random ASCII characters assigned to the colors in the palette, like an ASCII art editor with color.

Re: 2D puzzle "Biohazard"

Interesting idea. It's a bit difficult to predict what is going to happen after placing the cells. I got down to 7.

Re: Portrait rotation in android - correct way?

All that's needed for portrait mode is for the height to be larger than the width. Even this should work: t.window.width = 1 t.window.height = 2 Because you cannot change the actual screen resolution on Android, the width and height is only used by LÖVE to determine the wanted aspect ratio and wheth...

Re: What sites do you recommend for hosting your screenshots and game?

Imgur is reliable for hosting images, and itch.io is probably the most popular option for hosting games. Attaching files to posts should be the simplest option, but it doesn't always seem to work too well.

Re: Different Uses of Spritebatches

If you have multiple images then you'll need a different spritebatch for each image. If your tilesets aren't huge you could combine all tileset images into one image - then you could use a single batch for everything.

Re: Idea Review: Better than Pixel Perfect ?

You can definitively get rid of the middle step involving an image (which seem highly inefficient), and probably the finalCanvas step too (if you don't have more post-processing to do or something). Example using only one canvas: local WORLD_WIDTH = 80 local WORLD_HEIGHT = 100 local worldCanvas, wor...

Re: Stuttering in windowed mode with vsync turned on

rough.love is stuttering for me too (Windows 7) while smooth.love is indeed smooth. The stuttering seems to go away after a while, but it's kinda inconsistent as you say. I don't know if this is the actual issue, but commenting out the love.window.setTitle() call seem to solve, or at least decrease,...

Re: Is this a lot for a fused exe?

To reverse the fusion you can just open the exe with an archive program (7-zip or whatever) and extract the files. The fused exe is a valid .zip file because of how the zip format works. I first searched for all calls to love.* functions, and when I saw the thread stuff I just had a hunch it might b...

Re: Is this a lot for a fused exe?

Ok, the game does the same for me on Windows 7. After some testing, it seems the separate thread is the issue. local thread_code = [[ while true do local command = io.read() console_channel:push(command) -- Commenting this out stops the crazy memory usage. require"love.timer".sleep(0.01) -...
