Re: Crappy games

If you want to use the keyboard, use ←→ to control the position of your tank, and the "y" or "z" button to fire. The fire button is also used to start the game on the title screen. (Edit: It's not the ←→ on the number pad, but the other ←→ keys)

Re: Crappy games

Game doesn't start? Well it should. I have to say, it was made with Löve version 9.0, so maybe it doesn't work on all newer systems.

Re: Crappy games

Last year I tried what I could throw together in just 2 days. Not 2 consecutive days but 2 random days over the course of a week or so. So this game took me only 2 days to complete, and I originally decided not to post it. It's a finished game, but not a good one. There are enemies randomly flying f...

Re: Fidelity Blaster - A first-generation style Shoot em up

This may be the case if you coded it right. The problem is that I rely a lot on the getData() function of the image, and it has been removed in newer löve versions. And I am aware that you can start with a imageData, create the image from it, and store both the imageData and image in memory for late...

Re: Fidelity Blaster - A first-generation style Shoot em up

Yay, my game is on youtube :) About the titlescreen, I wanted to keep it as authentic as possible when compared to this generation of games. Remember those old Atari 2600 games? The titlescreen was usually the A.I. playing the game and there was no sound. Sometimes there were flashing colors, like I...

Re: Fidelity Blaster - A first-generation style Shoot em up

There is one true first generation shoot em up that stands out with it's variety of enemies and settings: it's Gorf. It was a great inspiration for some of my games that try to incorporate that variety. Although some of my games are still a bit more monotonous like it was more typical for the early ...

Fidelity Blaster - A first-generation style Shoot em up

Hi, Initially I was planning to return to my regular projects, but instead I did another side-project. I wanted to finish this in one-and-a-half weeks, making it my fastest finished game project so far. And I succeeded finishing this one in only 10 days. This game is called "Fidelity Blaster&qu...

Re: Mono Warp - A short monochrome shoot em up

Thanks for your info. I wasn't aware that you can also unzip the .exe file. From now on, I'll put licenses into the packages of my upcoming games. But what are the formal requirements for that? Is it a valid license if I just put a "license.txt" into my game's folder where I write out what...

Re: Mono Warp - A short monochrome shoot em up

Ok, here comes the ".love" file. Now, since downloading the love file gives you access to the game's sourcecode and resources (you could rename the file extension .love into .zip and then extract the game's content) I should clarify what you can and cannot do with it. You are allowed to us...
