That tutorial was written for CoronaSDK but the library it uses, Luasocket, is available in Love. You should be able to get inspiration from the tutorial.

You should do these each on their own line, use as little of syntax sugar as possible. It's more verbose but it's easier to read which will be very important when you'll be editing it.
And it can look really good. (Not like mine, that is spaghetti)

How to divide a multiline string into another strings? [Solved]

Something like:

Code: Select all

	input = [[
	Im a cool dude
	doesnt it?
	]]
	table = divide(input)
	printtable(table)
OUTPUT:
{"Im a cool dude","doesnt it?"}

That is exactly the way, except you use love.image.newImageData.
You can also use mapPixel on ImageDatas... also read through the wiki, it helps.
wtf really?. Thanks!

Creating a image from zero? [SOLVED]

There is some way of creating a image from zero and saving it to a local file? like:

Code: Select all

img = love.graphics.createImage(200,200) --200x200 image
img:setPixel(1,1,0.5,0.7,0.87) --Sets the pixel x:1,y:1 to color 0.5, 0.7, 0.87
img:encode("poop.png")

Re: Mario Kart: Extreme Drift

So here I am again, years later, with another Mario Kart thing. This time it's a bit more playable, though. 2 years ago, hatninja PM'd me about my Mario Kart shader demo, asking for a bit of help to make this https://love2d.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=83309 and that helped me get sprites working...

Re: How to do a one-off collision?

Have a variable 'door_collided' which is set to false at the beginning of the level. Check for collision only when it is false. Set it to true when the player collides with the door. Or a table named Collided with all the objects that are currently in collision. like if collided["door"] then next_l...
