Re: Why don't use Lua 5.3?

LÖVE uses LuaJIT, which is based on Lua 5.1. LuaJIT's main benefits over regular Lua versions are performance (it's 1.5-150x as fast as stock Lua) and its ability to use C data structures and call C functions directly, via its FFI.

Re: is it necessary to "free" texture data / love.graphics.Image ?

If that situation happens in code like the above where the lifetime of the texture is obvious, Object:release (new in LÖVE 11.0) is probably a better solution – it'll perform better, at least.

Re: LÖVE 11.2 released!

Android has always been handled by someone who isn't me. Right now we're in the middle of transitioning some of the Android release process from one person to another person. The Android repository has also been getting a lot of updates in the past couple months: https://github.com/love2d/love-andro...

Re: [LINUX][BUG][11.2] Duplicate process.

The no-game screen has the audio, sound, and joystick modules disabled, whereas an empty project has every module enabled – I guess one of those modules is causing it. Maybe you could narrow it down? It's likely one of LÖVE's dependencies is the root issue (e.g. OpenAL Soft or one of its backends li...

Re: Get available video memory value

Unfortunately you can't.

What sort of thing are these large cached Canvases used for, specifically? Maybe there's a different way to accomplish your goal which uses less VRAM.

Re: A fixture has escaped Memoizer!

1. I am using world:destroy() to unload the physics world, then when reloading the world I create a brand new physics world and try to replicate the fixtures (basically I'm trying to simulate launching the script again without relaunching the entire game / multiple scripts again). It's possible you...

Re: love.graphics.print doesn't work (a big title)

Could you try a prerelease nightly build of love 11.3? It has a workaround for a bug like that which affects ATI Radeon HD series GPUs on Windows, so I'm hoping it'll be fixed for you: https://ci.appveyor.com/project/AlexSzp ... /artifacts

Re: Tracing Segfault

Since you're using windows, you could try the latest LÖVE 11.3 prerelease build and see if the issue persists: https://ci.appveyor.com/project/AlexSzpakowski/love/build/job/cde1di0kcgn8c8og/artifacts LÖVE 11.3 has a bunch of fixes - one of the bigger ones is an updated version of OpenAL Soft which f...
