Re: Love.js - A Direct Emscripten Port

Ah look, its already listed as #18. Not what i had in mind tho. A bugtracker is rather unsorted. I meant more like a checklist of stuff to consider you can glance on before you write any code, a short summary of the bugtracker you could say. So you can plan ahead and not end up with a finished game ...

Re: Love.js - A Direct Emscripten Port

Nothing against simple, but if all feedback is missing how can one see if there is an error on loading the game? The space problem happens on text input, i just quickly tested a text input box. Now ive also noticed that keydown reports false positive on shift key. Not useful to nag on every detail i...

Re: Love.js - A Direct Emscripten Port

Nice work everybody, works pretty straight forward. The loading screen fooled me for a minute until i realized i have to turn js on... Maybe that should be a tad smarter than just a spinning wheel. Does anyone have a performance comparison for this? How much slower will a game run from a browser ins...

Re: Does table.remove remove the item from memory?

No, It does not immediately run the garbage collector if thats what you mean, but will be removed _whenver needed_. But garbage collection is nothing you should worry about, it will run timely. If the data in that field are all normal lua values, numbers and tables its almost impossible to create an...

Re: Over two frames of lag in mouse movement

So I've made an experiment: let's measure the mouse position near the end of the frame, instead of at the beginning. Didnt i already post that? Do ppl even open stuff? So split by colour: Blue- end of frame creation using love.mouse green- grumps ffi thing at end of frame red- _normal_ löve solutio...

Re: Over two frames of lag in mouse movement

Huh so far i have understood it any lag is caused because the calculations begin right after a frame was pushed to the monitor and is significantly faster than a frame, then the program stays idle for almost an entire frame until this now old calculations are drawn to the monitor. If you turn this a...

Re: help imagedate:getPixel for love 11.3

"canvas" is not the name of the function but a placeholder for the name of your canvas. In other words you need to create _canvas_ first before being able to use it. Further canvas:getPixel was removed from the current Löve version. To get the colour of a pixel i use this line: r,g,b= Canv...

Re: game development questions

Just upload the .love file for us to look at, or at least describe how you implemented collision detection.
The basic approach of "for every enemy check the distance to every bullet" for example would not cause such problems.
So, what did you do?
