Just upload the .love file for us to look at, or at least describe how you implemented collision detection.
The basic approach of "for every enemy check the distance to every bullet" for example would not cause such problems.
So, what did you do?

This function returns multiple number values, Assignment with = only work for one single value. You save the x value of the first point and discard the rest, obviously this cannot get drawn. Just finished it, very good gameplay. You should continue adding some side quests , it was quite disappointing to build a big base just to finish the game directly after that. This is too good of a game to keep it that short. Controls are quite hectic with only one tool button. Would greatly improve...

A couple of times ive hit the ram limit of my graphic card while drawing a ton of pixels in one frame. Oddly this caused no high cpu usage or frame drop. Simply said the card run out of ram and closed itself. Further rendering several mb of text at once may cause your graphic card to completely lock...

Yea i see the error, if the car goes to the very left side the left edge has to get in the middle oft the screen too.

I gave it a lil try too, but it constantly feels like going uphill :D
Also the horizon sucks a bit.
