Löve2d shoutout on Awesome Games Done Quick 2019

Games Done Quick is a charity event done twice or more every year where the worlds best speed runners come together to speed run and break games for donations. Every event is capped off by a TASBot event where a "robot" plays a game using a prerecorded TAS or tool-assisted speedrun. This year they p...

Re: LÖVE 11.2 released!

11.0 and 11.1 crash in macOS 10.14. love 11.3 will include an updated version of SDL which has working vsync on macOS. I don't get any crashes on 11.0 on my end. (Edit: Just remembered it's only because you gave me a fixed build a while back) I just can't use 11.2 because of the vsync ignoring issu...

Re: LÖVE 11.2 released!

macOS 10.14 has a broken implementation of OpenGL vsync unfortunately. Hopefully it will be fixed in an OS update. There's nothing we can do to fix it on our side. It works in 11.1 because that was built with the macOS 10.13 SDK and macOS 10.14 uses legacy codepaths internally when running it (it's...

Re: LÖVE 11.2 released!

For some reason 11.2 ignores my vsync setting and causes my game to run over 60FPS, which in my project actually makes it very laggy. I have vsync set to true both in the conf.lua file and being set with the setMode function.

macOS 10.14.

Possible to use stencil with Canvas:renderTo?

I just learned how to properly use a stencil with a canvas, but it only works with setCanvas. Is there any way to use it with renderTo as well? Since renderTo is just a shortcut to setCanvas, but it doesn't seem to support stencil unless I'm using it wrong. I just like to use renderTo because it's c...

Re: What's everyone working on? (tigsource inspired)

I just love this. Looks so sweet :nyu: Well done! Can we test/use this? I always wanted to do a UI or FakeOS like this but never did. It's nothing special. Was just a distraction for a while. I had started it a long while ago but gave up and decided to try it again when I saw some cool projects oth...

Shader help: Passing a matrix into a shader?

Okay, basically I'm trying to tweak my textured polygon shader (written by xXxMoNkEyMaNxXx and used by many here) to allow for color shading. I already have that working though. But what I want to do is have the option to dither the overlaying color. Basically having a matrix that is a table of 1s a...

Re: What's everyone working on? (tigsource inspired)

how did this get here im not good with computer 7kKY4GIveQg It's quite simple right now. Well it's complex, but it's simple. A lot doesn't work. The menus are for show. The buttons on the titlebars are not functional. There's no app system. The file system is simple, but it is physical right now. Bu...

Re: Love on Mac w/o OpenGL

Apple making the walls higher around their garden again. Metal is technically much better than OpenGL in all aspects so it has nothing with a "walled garden". It's about performance. I look forward to a Metal version of Löve eventually. I just wonder how long it's gonna take before they remove it c...
