Re: Love on Mac w/o OpenGL

Apple making the walls higher around their garden again. Metal is technically much better than OpenGL in all aspects so it has nothing with a "walled garden". It's about performance. I look forward to a Metal version of Löve eventually. I just wonder how long it's gonna take before they remove it c...

Re: Anyone have a shader to put an outline around an image?

And the blog one doesn't draw the way it should. It seems to draw the outline inside the image edge instead of around the outside of the image edge which is what I need. Simply inverting the sign works for me: outline.glsl vec4 resultCol; extern vec2 stepSize; vec4 effect( vec4 col, Image texture, ...

Re: Anyone have a shader to put an outline around an image?

Neither of those are working right at all. The qwooke one is completely broken. Or I'm not understanding how to send the information to it. And the blog one doesn't draw the way it should. Anyone have a shader to put an outline around an image?

I’m looking for a shaded that can put an outline around the pixels in an image preferably with options to set the color and thickness if possible. Has anyone made one? I know they can be useful.

Use Anim8 by Kikito. It's really easy to use and understand.

Re: Is it possible to print to the terminal/console in custom colors?

Awesome. That works perfectly. Will be really useful. Thanks!

Is there a way to set the background color of the text too? The method on the Wiki doesn't seem to work. Well it works, but only for the black text on white background. Is there a limit because playing around doesn't seem to work.

Is it possible to print to the terminal/console in custom colors?

As said, when I run my project from the terminal it would be useful if I could print out my debug information in different colors. Is it possible for Löve to do this? Maybe using some codes in the string being printed? It would be so useful for debugging and separating relevant info when you're prin...

Re: Futuristic Topdown Racer Feedback

Is it actually top-down in the same vein as straight down camera racers like Death Rally/Micro Machines? Or is it faux-3d like F-Zero? Because F-Zero/Super Mario Kart aren't top-down. Death Rally and Micro Machines are. *Death Rally was a game by the makers of Duke Nukem 3D in the '90s. It was reall...

Re: [solved]how to use "i" properly with nested for loops

"i" has always just been an example. You can use anything you want. "a", "b", "n", "bullet", "foo", "chopsuey". We just use "i" because it's been used so long. I'm sure there's an origin story.

Re: How exactly should I learn

I disagree. I feel Lua is pretty easy to learn. At least as easy as BASIC IMHO. I came to Löve after trying to code my original project in JavaScript and it was a horrible pain. I was originally programming it in QuickBASIC in DOSBox for a while (Out of fun and because it was what I knew) and hit a ...
