Hexanimals

Hi all, This is the third reincarnation of a CCG idea I've been trying (see previous post Habitat Wars ). I've added a hexagonal grid to the gameplay which changes things quite a bit. Aim The aim of the game is now to get any of your creatures across the board from your HOME to your opponent's HOME....

Looks good! It took me a little while to understand how the match-3 mechanics worked and that they only happen when there are enemies around to defeat, but then the game became a lot of fun! Okay, thanks. Sounds like it's not possible to get access to the multi-touch capability then? I was thinking of making use of things like the pincer movement for zoom. The two finger scroll does get picked up by love.mouse.wheelmoved at least.

Hi,

By no means an expert but I think you could...

a) Test in love.update() using love.keyboard.isDown("key").

b) Activate a flag in love.keypressed(key) and deactivated it in love.keyreleased(key).

Well done, it's lots of fun! I liked the game mechanics - especially the way the owl swooped and the rats ran away. The chosen music gives it quite a sombre feel? I guess it is a night-time game with life and death at stake though! I would have liked some sort of progress bar and perhaps for the win...

Very relaxing! Well thought out too. I liked the game mechanic in that there wasn't really a 'loss' scenario, just takes a bit of time to reach the win conditions. The music is great too -- especially liked how it changed for above/below ground. Kudos!
