I've pushed an update that should fix this issue. the main cause of this is that I need to scale the map from whatever the user sets the scale to back to 1.0 to draw to the canvas. Can you show us your shader? It shouldn't be taking 10s. We use newShader all the time and it takes no discernible amount of time.

You want to floor only when drawing, leaving the actual coordinates in tact.

You could try copying map:draw so that it does everything except draws the internal canvas, then you can take that canvas and draw it after you use gamera's transforms
