Re: My projects and demos
So a new day a new screen, progress today has been pretty good. Found nearly all of the background illustrations that will be used in the characteristics screens (but if anyone reading this finds something they think would be good - please feel free to add them to the thread.) Some more nitpicky thi...

Re: My projects and demos
Lol it was netrunners that held the game up for us, half an hour of roleplay just to open a locked door! Good luck with this project, should be a real blast from the past. :) Thanks, yea Netrunning really did slow down the whole game. I remember that also. I think again its a area where if the comp...

Implementing a navigation que system best practices?
Hi, Just a quick question. I have been thinking about how to write the following in the best way and what you fellows think is the best aproach to take. I have a series of screens that a user can navigate by pressing the previous or next button or they can quit the program or press back to go back t...

Re: My projects and demos
Yes! that's well spotted. I enjoyed that game very much back in the day so I wanted to make a game 'inspired by/influenced ' the system. I got bored waiting for cyberpunk 2077 - I wonder if it will ever be released it always seems to be delayed. So I thought, it would be nice to have a cyberpunk sty...

Re: My projects and demos
Hi Pedro, thanks for the suggestions. Have been trying to figure out where to put the actual stat I am thinking of putting it in the bottom right hand corner of the text window. These screens are a "More Info" screen that you would click if you wanted to know more about a statistic. The sc...

Re: My projects and demos
True, thanks for the spelling heads up. not sure why the spell checker didn't find that out when I was googling haha - well that goes some way to explaining why most rpgs abbreviate the stats to three characters. RPGs kind of have a rep of having some of the worst user interfaces and menu layouts of...

Re: My projects and demos
Hi Ivan, cheers - yea the logo is really just a place-holder. the plan is to replace it with any buff/de-buff to the characteristic I agree the font is kinda hard to read at this resolution I think a simple bold font will be ok. I will see if I can get the size of the dial numbers increased also as ...

Re: My projects and demos
Maybe you could just make two images, background/needle, then simply rotate the needle programmatically. You could do the same for the colours, and show them progressively by adding alpha as the meter rises. I was thinking about that but I wanted to cut down on processing time as much as possible. ...

Re: My projects and demos
Maybe this could help? ;) https://design.google.com/icons/ Thanks, yes I think some of the icons could be useful doing the interfaces. I did find a rather large icon pack for games but I am not so keen on the art style so I decided not to use it. Today was a bit slow, partly because of my own stupi...

Re: My projects and demos
Thank you for your tips (and the kind words), I agree its a lot of information, probably more than the player needs to actually play the game. It always struck me as a little unrealistic that with traditional role-playing games you knew exactly what every statistic was. When you think about real lif...
