There's a reason it's undocumented, because typically, you don't need it. It's bad design to have certain features only on certain OSs, as suggested by you. I expect games to work with the OS I'm using whenever it benefits the experience, instead of being completely oblivious to anything worth taki...

From my understanding, Love is supposed to be sandboxed away from the OSFS, and uses its own system to manage files. Is this not the case?

I think that may be a bit over zealous... Mobile games have permissions because phones have a lot of sensitive data that is accessible through the API. PCs have sensitive data, but it is not accessible in the same manner, there are no API calls in Windows/Unity/Love/etc that say "give me access...

Well, my server is just a home server. Certain web APIs do not work via locally so you need to loop them through a web server. I often start projects on my desktop and move them somewhere better, later. Tossing some files in my apache folder because something won't work without going through a serve...

My web server is a network drive, so I simply drag/drop my files over to it. What happens is I do that, then get caught up doing something else and when I return to my pc I forget that I need to reopen all of the files from the network drive and I continue to edit the ones still on my desktop.

If you want to use class-style oop, then use a class system. If you'd rather not, then don't. If you want interoperable code, use one that conforms to class commons. Hard coding a class system into love is just not a good idea.
