Re: Love ang Intel GMA

I feel the need to remind you that:
RPG wrote:Okay, why on machine with 1 GB RAM and nvidia geforce 6600 (128 M) game works perfectly?
anjo wrote:640MB of memory for those PNGs.
Why on other machine game needs only 10 Mb RAM?
So I am guessing that the resources are being loaded in an appropriate manner.

Re: Love ang Intel GMA

Yeah, I was hesitant to ask that question since I thought that other games/applications might not suffer the same symptoms. I'm sure that whatever the issue is it can, and will, be fixed. It's obviously something in the code that interfaces with the GFX card.

Re: Considering picking up Lua

Oh man, I TOTALLY agree with that. I concur :monocle:

But uh, as long as I understand what the source is doing, I feel comfortable not knowing exactly how the syntax works. I'm sure I'll reach the point where I can read it with 100% clarity someday.

Re: Splash

I would love to see the following in this: -A sound played by each 'splash' that would change tone with the colour and fadeout as the 'splash' grows in size -A slower initial rate at which the 'splashes' are generates to compliment the above. I could provide some lövely samples/sound effects for you...

I wish I could test this and help. If true, this is a pretty scary finding!

It's interesting that you say that. I find Slither to be easier to use than the others. Just a preference I guess. They're all wonderful, intuitive options.

Re: 2 Quick Questions...

As relevant as the issue of selling a game might be, a part of me feels sad that this question is sometimes one of the first ones asked by newcomers. Not that I'm judging Havemeat, not at all :). It's just the question.

Re: Considering picking up Lua

Eh, you get used to it pretty sharpish. I'm enjoying using it, and I think bartbes likes the fact that someone is actively using it. I consult him now and then when I try to do something I haven't done before. It works a treat, and the source code for the 'class' object is just.... insane. Some craz...

Re: Considering picking up Lua

I disagree with you both! :P I'm using bartbes' latest OOP invention: https://bitbucket.org/bartbes/slither/overview

I personally find it easier to use than both of the above. But eh, each to their own.
