#GPCv16 - Eat Colorz

Post by monsieur_h »

Hey, here is my entry-to-be for the Game Prototype Challenge. (A jam that lasts one week, ending this weekend). That's my first game, and I made it to have a one week break from my main game project.

Here is what I achieved so far with the themes FOUR COLOURS and ABSORBTION (both theme must be used).

I still have about 30H to :
- make up a level (I haaaaaate level design, and I'm too lazy to code a real level editor)
- tweak special effects (when having contact with platforms for exemple)

So far, I spent about 20H of trial and error during the week, including 2H to make the "art". Feedback on clearness of explanations would be appreciated. (I'm not a native english speaker).

It looks really clean. Took me a liitle time to figure out the point of the game.
I like how the platforms shakes when you jump and fall on it.
And the graphics are simple, yet really effective.
Good job on this!

EDIT: I think the word I was looking for is "cute". :awesome:

I updated it with a longer and hopefully better level. I'm globally unsatisfied with the quality of the prototype, but that's all I could expect with only one week of free time at my level. Gotta get back to bigger projects :ultrahappy:

Feel free to browse source code here(https://bitbucket.org/monsieur_h/eatcolorz) and to give me feedback on code/gameplay.
