My first project: Labyrinth

Post by URZq » Sat Aug 13, 2016 5:55 pm

Hello there !

Recently I got obsessed with maze generation algorithm, and I wanted to write my own.

I thought it was a good opportunity to -finally- test Love. I must say I'm very impressed:
everything is so simple and intuitive, and it's very easy to install and deploy games

Also, I use sublime, and I miss A LOT the possibility to set breakpoints and inspect variables :(
Maybe I'll try ZeroBrain next time.

Anyway, Love is great, and perfect for small/experimental projects :)

Welcome to the club :nyu: (and to the forums!) ;)

I wrote a blog post about two very specific types of mazes: http://orden-y-concierto.blogspot.com/2 ... mazes.html

It was before I knew LÖVE so I wrote the generator in Python.

That's the nicest thing about it indeed.

Nice job. I only miss creating an entry and an exit. Also, it's not immediately clear at the start which are walls and which are passages, in part precisely due to the lack of an entry and an exit. But sure, for an experimental algorithm testing lab it's great.

If you're interested in mazes, have you checked out the maze thread? Some really cool implementations in there...
