#love IRC channel moves to OFTC

Post by thelinx »

After a discussion among the higher-ups, a decision has been made, and the result is as follows:

The #love IRC channel will move to the OFTC IRC Network, effective immediately.
Get your nicks registered and your IRC clients pointing the correct direction.

See you there.

...and it's not connecting? I don't think I have a net issue as everything else is working fine. I'll keep trying I guess.

Try this if your browser supports irc links.

Nope. Nothing. Even the web based client on the home page refuses to connect. I've tried disabling my firewall and other security measures to no avail.

Hopefully it's just a server hiccup and all will be well soon.

Perhaps their network does not like my phone-tethered net connection? I've emailed their technical support and have yet to receive an answer back. Meanwhile, I'm going to keep trying to find out why the heck it's not working...

Try contacting your cellphone operator as well.

Have you tried the alternative ports they provide as well?

I use a third party tethering app to take advantage of my 'unlimited' internet. My cellular company doesn't know and doesn't need to know that I tether. I don't know where you live but in the US tethering fees are draconian with a lot of money for a laughably small maximum monthly traffic. Most often it's something like $30/mo for 2GB up/down max with severe overage charges per extra GB used (rounded up I assume).

I have, also tried their SSL methods for shits and giggles. Nothing works.
