Tempst-like retro effect?

Post by NetherGranite »

I really like the way Tempest and other similar "retro" games glow. Is it plausible to achieve this effect in LOVE? I assume that the solution would involve either shaders or canvases (or both), but I don't have any ideas beyond that.

I'm not sure what "retro glow" effect you're talking about, but i'm pretty sure that moonshine might have something you're looking for.

moonshine

Have you tried moonshine, @NetherGranite?

I've experimented with it a little and it is quite pleasant, even if it does not offer tooo much (not devaluating the work!...).
Unfortunately I cannot find any contact info for the main author of this associated git repo :/ I can apply some pretty effects on the whole screen, but for single ingame elements, I do not find a way to make it work.

Has anyone used moonshine in their projects? (or know how to contact ppl on github?)

Moonshine use shaders and canvas. You should take a look at :
