Breaking Fast, where Mario Kart meets 2d and breakfast food, close to release

Post by francismoy »

EDIT2: After 2.5 weeks, Breaking Fast has been greenlit, so we're a step closer to bring to Steam a LOVEly game! :D Thanks for your support! Here's the Steam trailer, in case you haven't seen it yet:

EDIT1: Breaking Fast is now on Steam Greenlight: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/f ... =698541028 If you like it, please vote for it and let's get a LOVEly game on Steam! :)

Hi all!

It's my pleasure to introduce Breaking Fast, a competitive game where you have to be faster than your opponents, and where you can trick them with different boosters that you can collect on your way.

I've just uploaded the first of a series of videos on the development of the game. In this video, I introduce myself as the game programmer and I show you the current state of the game, which still requires a good deal of work to be completed. Therefore, as I face different programming problems, I will show you how I use Lua (and Love2d) to implement solutions for these problems.

Also, you can follow us on:

Please, feel free to share your impressions, suggestions, etc on the game so we can polish it and make it a great and fun game to play.

See you,
FM

I remember seeing this somewhere, but u forgot where. Maybe irc? But I remember using you blog and the usability IMO was lacking. Some portions were even in a different language. It wasn't very unified at all.

Thanks for the feedback.

I actually changed recently the organization and template of my development blog: http://becomingindiedev.blogspot.com.es/

I don't know if you saw this version or the old one. If you could take a look and provide some suggestions, I'd be grateful. My only goal is improving :)

Really nice development videos.

There should be a tutorial section in our forum.

Thanks!

The development of Breaking Fast goes on. This last week, we've been working on implementing a scalable system to accept from 1 to 4 local players. You can find more details on our development blog: http://becomingindiedev.blogspot.com.es ... lable.html. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask me.

Hi again!

As a complement to the aforementioned video tutorial on implementing the menu navigation for your game, we've just published a new post on our development blog. We discuss some implementation details of Breaking Fast, in particular how the navigation flow can be implemented with Lua/Löve. If you have any comment, suggestion, etc, they'll be, as always, very well appreciated.

The development of Breaking Fast continues, of course! Here you can check a new development video, in which I explain how I implemented the pause screen.
