Scroller

Post by Nsmurf »

I am working on a game called "Gravity lab"

The scrolling looks sorta bad right now, any advice on how to make it better?

Feel free to use this engine anywhere you like (With credit), and if you want a non-scrolling version, just contact me.

Why do you think it looks bad? I think it's quite good =)
The game itself is interesting, just make more levels and some sort of power-up's or death traps, and game would be totally awesome.
Also: background music is a bit annoying >_<

I thought the level looked like a cutout, but if people think it's good, I won't do anything about it.

The music is just a placeholder until i get something better.

I think it's fine to have that kind of style for a puzzle game like this - but it probably comes down to what direction you want to take this game. Is it intended to be abstract, set in no fixed place, or is it intended to be realistic, set inside some kind of warehouse, in some kind of city? I quite like that it is abstract!

As for gameplay, I am intending it to be a puzzle game involving a gravity switching mechanic.
As for the art, One of my friends is making it, so I don't have much control.

It is intended to be in a lab, but not very realistic, more cartoon style.

New update, I have the gravity switching done. If you touch the green arrow block then your gravity is up (Dose that make sense? )

EDIT:
If you touch the "X" block your gravity is reset.

Thanks for the tip!

Is using love.timer.sleep(0.005) a performance issue?
