Game idea - musical game (and by musical I mean stageplay)

I've been thinking about how you can combine a musical and a game in a fun way. A weird framing device can make a game way more interesting, as Space Channel 5 clearly shows.
My current best idea is this:
You control one of the characters in a musical. You can move around and pick up, interact with, and put down items. There will be certain actions you have to perform at the right time, and if you don't, a "health bar" (which has nothing to do with health) will decrease, and if it runs out, the game ends. The thing is, the actions you have to perform are not explicitly told to you; you have to infer them from the situation, dialogue, and lyrics of the songs (or other things, who knows).
The game would also have a bunch of stuff to make it feel like a musical, such as overtures, scene changes with people moving the set around, etc. I think the main fun parts of a game like this would be watching the musical and learning how to better predict when a cue is coming up.
