Re: Final Fantasy 7 to MMOJRPG
Best tip would be: Try to keep it small and simple. Make your own thing without any trademarked characters. I would löve to play a new, good looking, innovative game over some ugly 2D remake of FF7 which won`t be completed in the next years. I started a lot of projects on my own. Mostly desktop app...

Geometry/physics problem
So I have this problem: if you have an object ("Planet") and a smaller object ("Moon") floating in the vacuum of space, how can you determine the velocity the moon must have to stay in (circular) orbit? (I will assume the moon will have no gravitational effect on the planet.) My ...

Re: Project GRIME
Very nice.
I thought I found two bugs (other than the "moonwalk" bug), but after having a closer look at both, I discovered it was just me being stupid.

Re: (help) how do you compile your game to be a double click exe
I would recommend, however, that you keep the .love'd version handy for those of us that don't use Windows and don't want to use Wine or can't use Wine. linux: love game.exe just works... So does double-clicking if you've associated all .exe files with Wine. Not everybody is willing to install Wine...

Re: Löve Splash Screen (code)
OS X would create a directory to copy the folder into and then zip up THAT directory, so that main.lua is no longer in root... i.e it'll be in myprogram.zip/myprogram/main.love Linux does that too, and if you have a shell extension in windows the same behaviour is to be expected. Yup, at least with...

Re: CAMERA: scrolling and scaling
Now what I want to know is why has this not been part of Love already? This kind of thing is almost TOO useful to not include. I think this quote might answer your questions: In the original idea we were going to be making an all-encompassing system with it's own GUI for browsing games, GUI system,...

Continuous Cellular Automaton
Another CA (again based on the Life Lua example). This time it's a continuous one. Every time the CA is run (press R to restart with random initial states), it goes through three stages: Contrasts. Spots that are on average a tiny bit lighter become lighter, and the same goes for darker spots. Advan...

Re: CAMERA: scrolling and scaling
It doesn't make a difference, really. The global variable "mil" probably has not been set, so it evaluates to nil anyway.phoku wrote:I'm pretty sure line 533 should have a nil instead of a mil.
I think it will be a tad slower, but it's probably not noticeable.

I forgot to put it under a open source license, but you may assume it is licensed under LPCL. Next version will contain a notice.

Re: Create a background for the wiki!
Well, this image has 0 background quality. The one I'm asking for is also behind most page elements and only the top and top-left part can be seen kind of well. I would rather suggest something that is not one symbol, but multiple symbols (with small differences between them and hopefully not a rep...
