Re: Plans for LÖVE
It would be cool to have a Löve code base (maybe as a section on the forum), all licensed under LCPL. LÖVE is already released under the zlib license so you can pretty much do with it as you want as long as you do not claim that you made the original version(s) of LÖVE clearly mark edited versions ...

I got here from this GitHub blog post. It compelled me learn Lua and Löve in one day. That was six days ago.

Re: Lovely Public Community License (LPCL)
Well, basically it works exactly the same as when someone creates a new project with the same name. You can't do anything about that in the license (as it isn't applied to the GPL version in your example). Maybe you can try something with trademark, but I guess that's just.. bad luck. But wouldn't ...
Re: ALT+0214
Which system are you using? Kubuntu? No, Windows XP. This machine dual-boots Windows XP and Xubuntu. Under XP (or on my Eee PC with Xandros for that matter), this feature works, but if I use Xubuntu, it doesn't work, which suggests it's a feature of the operating system (not the kernel, but the who...

Re: Lovely Public Community License (LPCL)
I'll try to rephrase the version so that things should be clearer without clarifications. Any tips? I will make the distinction between copyright and trademark clearer and that there are no restrictions on the former. Could you tell me what will happen when this occurs: Project Foo under LPCL -> fo...

Re: Lovely Public Community License (LPCL)
If you guys still insist on using this license (and it turns out GPL-incompatible), perhaps you could add a clause to allow people to relicense the work under a GPL-compatible license? If you do that, I'm golden. That might be an excellent idea (if it's true it's still not GPL-compatible)! Especial...

Re: Lovely Public Community License (LPCL)
Still, what is not GPL-compatible about it? As posted above the protection of the name is basically trademark-protecting, which is GPL-compatible. That's what I thought too: derivatives of projects under LPCL can be licensed as the makers of the derivatives wish, including GPL. They just need commu...
