Re: Differences between this and Torque2D?
Language: Torque2d uses TorqueScript (propietary, fairly ugly language). LÖVE uses Lua (more general language that doesn't suck balls). Integrated Editor: Torque2d has an IDE which also functions as some sort of scene editor. LÖVE doesn't. Cost: Torque2d costs money. LÖVE doesn't. Graphics API: Tor...

Re: LOVE on PS3
Awesome! I agree with bartbes, reimplementing LÖVE inside another engine isn't a particularly good idea and, depending on the "other" engine, it may actually prove impossible. I'm not saying that porting LÖVE to the PS3 is going to be absolutely straightforward, mostly because it has quite...

Re: LOVE on PS3
If you do have access to official PS3 kits, why not por the thing yourself? It has absolutely no license constraints and if the PS3 SDK is anything near the PS2 or the PSP it shouldn't be really difficult to port. I don't want to be offensive, but the last time I talked with SCEA employees, getting ...

Re: LOVE on PS3
What's involved: 1) Getting Linux for PS3 (YellowDog Linux). 2) Getting LOVE to compile under that OS (if the code isn't endianess-ready, prepare for a lot of fun). 3) Start coding your LOVE game. 4) ??? 5) Profit! Jokes aside, porting LOVE to the PS3 would be pretty cool. A shame I can't afford a P...

Re: Request: Love Logos.
CC's non-commercial clause is kinda tricky. You can't for example, use that logo in a website that displays paid Ads. While I whole-earthedly agree that those who annoy their visitors with banners deserve no love whatsoever, one should be free to give credit to the engine even on commercial projects.

Re: Extending with DLLs? Other librarys?
Nope, not at all. I'm not sure what rude meant, but my best guess is the fact that you can't just import the public symbols of some random DLL. What you can do, however, is to use lua extensions (or whatever they're actually called) like LuaSocket (that one's already buldled since 0.5.0, though). I'...

Re: Display choppy on Ubuntu
Those problems should be solved once this thing goes implemented into X, IIRC.
FWIW, I've been running various Ubuntu installs with desktop effects turned on and so far, so good. Shitty onboard nVidia chip here, using the "restricted driver" from the repos. Maybe igneous is right
