Re: Psuedo 3/2.5D engines in LÖVE?
I agree, that's the main thing I noticed love didnt have was accelerated graphics, which I found surprising. In the java engine I made, image pixels are loaded into an array and the copied from when they're rendered, so they aren't wrapped or anything, just copied from. It's here if you want to take...

Lenovo B570
4 gigs ram
Intel i3
Meh I forget the rest, the main thing is though I don't have a graphics card so that's probably why I don't support buffers.

Re: So anyway, Mari0 is out...
Download the source and set gamefinished=true, it unlocks all the cheats such as portal knockback, goomba attack, and minecraft mode lol. Fun to mess around with. With invincible mario and portal knockback I can just knockback into the air and finish each level under 10 seconds. Obviously it takes t...

Re: Psuedo 3/2.5D engines in LÖVE?
Did those machines have built in geo drawing? (just to clarify, this is a serious question, not being sarcastic or anything lol) Aside from the raycaster, there also a game made by Maurice (of Mari0 fame) called Ortho Robot that does some fancy 3d-looking projections. http://stabyourself.net/orthoro...

Re: Psuedo 3/2.5D engines in LÖVE?
I saw his ray casting project but I wasn't entirely sure if it was 3d or not, I just skimmed over it and didn't download it ;P Wow that dice project is impressive. Just skimming through it, it looks like he just used cleverly drawn shapes instead of direct pixel interaction. That's definitely an eas...

Psuedo 3/2.5D engines in LÖVE?
I've done a decent amount of work with Java2D, and definitely Java in general. I recently built a 3D dungeon crawler type engine using a pixel array, math, and then drawing the pixel array to screen with Java2D. This is possible though because all of the calculations are basic pixels[x + y * width] ...
