'vent-programming' and what can become of It

So I got home from a wrestling tournament last night and had placed 5th which is not what I hoped for, so naturally being me and not taking losing very well I was incredibly depressed/angry and Started a new main.lua and just added some code to play around with angrily (I often use interpreters as toys too it's weird) and eventually it evolved into this kind-of half-baked game. I call it half-baked because if uses no images or anything outside of love, and Im now feeling slightly not as bad about me coming in 5th, and decided to put my other game on hold, while I learn to do luasocket networking/develop this idea out of where it is now. This thread is for finding out if anyone else vent programs or if Im just weird, and on a different note giving me tips on how to go about improving this game in any way plus giving any tips you have on networking with lua. I already plan on eventually adding bosses, health/ammo packs, sounds, multiplayer, difficulty levels, and choosing what color your guy looks like. Use the WASD keys to move, click to shoot, and press space or return to continue to the next screen.

One thing you should add, blood. Like, shader/glowy red lights lights that sparkle violently as you get shot. Also, random audio files that tell the player how much he sucks. Nice!

Yes! Exactly! Comfort food programming or something with a clever name, but have you ever done anything from this that actually ended up as something other than a toy of sorts?

I don't think so... I think most things that I have made that are not toys are things that were either borne out of a need, or out of a Cool Idea, that I consciously sit down for to make.
