Do all games have to start off with love.draw?

I'm pretty new the the LOVE Lua (not lua it's self).

Well, no, you can put love.draw pretty much anywhere in your code. But if you don't use it, your game isn't going to look very interesting.

I guess you could do a conversational adventure or a roguelike using love.print only.
When I write def I mean function.

print(), not love.print() :P

But if you use that, there is not really a reason to use LÖVE over just Lua.

Other than not having Lua itself installed, of course. ;)

Well, that is a bit silly. :P

Lua alone is about 100-200 KB IIRC, which is a lot less than LÖVE. Also, you usually don't have to install any dependencies for Lua. ;)
