I don't know whether this is a bit overkill, but the first trigonometric function that newies want to use is arcTangent ("How can I make my turret point to the player").

I can vouch for that. My first thread here was about mouse-look. I'd figured it out using Search but I couldn't work out how to add movement to the sprite while it was looking at the mouse. Kikito helped me with this.

Thanks! I am one of the unfortunate ones who slept through maths thinking "trigowhatnow? like i'd ever need that in my life"... so I try and soak up such taken-for-granted knowledge where I can.

Well... I made this in a few minutes for a friend. Is this something that people would like to see a tutorial series on? If so, I'll make it happen.
