Freeze followed by BSOD

Post by Virox »

Hello

I'm trying to make my own application but sometimes when I want to test my application my entire screen freezes.
I can't do nothing anymore. After a couple of seconds I get a BSOD with warns me about drivers en memory.

When I reboot i get this error log:

Code: Select all

BCCode : 1000008e BCP1 : 80000004 BCP2 : 806ECAE1 BCP3 : A6DCA1B0
BCP4 : 00000000 OSVer : 5_1_2600 SP : 3_0 Product : 256_1
I was wondering if this is something that has happend to other love-users too?
Could this be caused by hardware, drivers or something else?
I'm thinking at memory leaks, but I'm no expert so I'm probably wrong :)

I'm working on a HP Compaq 6730b laptop.
I have a Mobile Intel 4 series express chipset

I'm going to test it on my desktop pc later this week.

Does this happen with any love game or just the one you made?

I'm not 100% sure, but I think with others too.
But in the beginning I didn't mind. Thought it would not be that frequent.

Have you build LÖVE yourself or are you using a prebuilt download? You run Windows XP, am I right?

(I don't actually have a clue on how to solve this. Someone else with lots of experience with dark magic willing to help out?)

What do you mean by prebuilt download? I've downloaded the love 0.6.0 installer.
Yes I'm working with Windows XP.

I'm currently working on my project on my desktop. So far no freeze or BSOD 8-)

Yes, that's a prebuilt one. That's good to know because we now know you haven't done anything funky to the source without telling. ;)

I think I've narrowed the cause of the crashes on my laptop a bit. It seems to only occur when the Löve screen loses focus or some time after that. (ex: alt+tab towards another program, screensaver jumps up, ...)
But it doesn't crash everytime I switch the focus, so there has to be another factor.
